Our mission
to seek and to save the lost
Graymere Missions is the work of the Graymere Church of Christ. Our mission is to mobilize, utilize our resources and talents, and to seize opportunities to make disciples. “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matt. 28:18-20).
While we engage in various types of mission activities, a core focus of our ministry is: “To plant a church that can plant a church that can plant a church.” This slogan is adapted from the Apostle Paul’s instruction to Timothy to replicate through the sharing of the Gospel with others. “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:1-2). It is our belief that our greatest impact can be made by teaching the Gospel, gathering disciples into local bodies, and equipping them to replicate the process themselves.
The term “Missions” has become so broad that it may refer to many different things. It could include efforts such as: short-term mission trips, long-term mission efforts, humanitarian outreaches in the areas of benevolence or medicine, educational outreach in both secular or Christian education, or social outreaches toward orphans and widows. As we have discovered, Christians desire to help in all of these areas.
It is our hope that this primary focus will then provide additional opportunities for us to join hearts and hands with the planted churches and partnering missionaries in order to reach out together in all of the previously mentioned ways.
